Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the biggest days in the world of eCommerce and though they are almost two months away (which may seem a long way off) you should really start preparing for them as soon as possible as they will be here before you know it. If you take full advantage of these two opportunities and have a good plan for them, you could potentially find yourself with a large increase in sales.
But first of all, let me give you a quick introduction to both of these days, just in case you're not completely familiar with them. Black Friday is the Friday which follows Thanksgiving (a sign of the day's American roots.) People use it as an opportunity to do a lot of their Christmas shopping as it is about one month before Christmas and many businesses significantly lower their prices for this day. The increase in sales makes up for the lower prices. Cyber Monday comes on the Monday following the Friday and is an eCommerce-only version of Black Friday. If you've got some good products in stock and are able to offer them at especially appealing low prices then you should make the effort to create some great graphics to show off these reductions in your marketing strategies.
It's a big couple of days and could be the time in which you experience most of the year's Christmas purchases. Customers are so used to these two days, that they may well expect you to be taking part to the extent that they may be disappointed if you do not. So make some good reductions and make sure people know about it: share it on all your social media platforms, include it in your news letters, write blog posts about it and make sure that everybody knows! Hopefully Black Friday and Cyber Monday will bring you a nice boost in sales and your eCommerce site will continue to experience success.
