Free Public Domain Images

When polishing up your eCommerce website or starting up a blog for content marketing, one thing you're going to need is images. Images brighten up a website and are the difference between a website looking bland and unexciting and a website looking appealing. It's also the difference between a piece of content looking like a boring block of text and looking like something people will actually want to read. So, basically, images are key in the visual design of a website.

So if you're going to need images, where can you get them from? Well, the best option is to get your own photographs. If you are able to take high quality professional photographs, it will do a good job of making your website look unique and engaging. Of course, I realise that that option will not be available to everybody because not everybody will have the skills or budget to obtain their own unique professional photos. You also can't really risk getting whatever images you need from Google Images because then you run the risk of infringing on somebody else's property. So what can you do?

I'm sure you've guessed from the title of this post that the answer to this problem is using free public domain images! But where can you find these? Well, if you do a quick Google search for the exact phrase in this post's title then you will doubtlessly find websites which offer a selection of free to use public domain images; you have to be careful though, as not all are able to be used for commercial purposes. If you don't fancy having a look yourself, one of these websites is PublicDomainPictures.net. Of course, any number of other websites might also be using the same images, so it will be best to get your own when possible, but this is certainly something to keep in mind in the meantime.

I hope this is a useful piece of advice and that you will be able to use it to make your eCommerce website even more effective.
