Reusing Content

Marketing is one of the most important things to do if you want to have a successful eCommerce website. There's email marketing, social media marketing and content marketing and, really, you should be implementing strategies for all three. In this blog post, however, I am going to go over something you can do to save you time and to make your content marketing even more effective.

If you're churning out blog posts on a regular basis, you might forget about them once they're published, but you must never do this! The truth is that a great deal of your content never loses its value. Sure, a post about small updates to your website isn't going to mean anything to anyone in a year's time, but the majority of your posts (which should be interesting, thought provoking, well written and maybe even funny) can be shared multiple times. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you should just copy and paste the exact same blog post twice, or even that you should slightly rewrite content and publish it a second time. If you wrote an especially good piece of content one day, then a few months later you might want to draw more people to it, so share it again on Twitter and Facebook; it's quite probable that different people will see it the second time you share it and who knows how many of them might be new customers?

You also shouldn't be afraid to write about the same subject more than once. If you write a blog post about something and then later think of more you could have said, use those ideas for a separate blog post. Being a little repetitive won't matter too much if you don't do it too often and if you only do it when also bringing something new to the table. One idea might have multiple different perspectives to it, so keep that in mind when doing your content marketing. It could often be useful when having a day where you struggle to think of something new. Just don't let pieces of high quality content gather dust in a dark corner of the internet when you could be continuing to use them to reach new people!
