Website Redesigns

If you use RomanCart then you therefore must also have a website, or more specifically, an eCommerce website. What do you do to keep this website up to date with modern trends? Have you ever redesigned it? Or has it been the exact same thing for years? If so, you might like to consider doing some kind of redesign soon. In this blog post I am going to go over why it is important to regularly update and redesign your website and hopefully that will give you something to reflect on for your own website.

The first important thing to remember is that, just like with everything else, fashions change. What was a stylish and trendy looking website five years ago might look somewhat dated or generic by now. Of course, the important thing is substance, rather than style, but then again a lot of what changes in terms of what makes a trendy website design is down to technological advances. Things will change and become more user friendly or more efficient. So by keeping up with the latest web design trends, you might actually be keeping your website at its highest level of quality. Plus, of course, while you may subscribe to the 'substance over style' mind frame, the fact is that when someone first comes to your website, they are much more likely to leave if it looks bad and you therefore need 'style' if you are going to keep them interested.

A complete overhaul of your website also might be a good way to get people excited about it. You can let everyone know in newsletters and on social media that a redesign is coming and build it up. Then, once the redesign has finally been launched, you can let everybody know and they'll be excited to see how things have changed, prompting them to visit the site and have a look around at lots of your pages (and maybe encouraging sales, if the design is good enough). Either way, it's important to keep your website design up to date and a complete redesign every now and then can't hurt. I wish you all the best and continued success with your eCommerce website.
