Make Sure Your Business Looks Trustworthy

There are loads of eCommerce websites on the internet. Even if you're selling a rather niche product, you're likely to have competitors and so you want to do everything you can to ensure that your website looks trustworthy and reliable. The thing about independent eCommerce websites is that people sometimes worry that they might be scams; if people are going to give you their bank details, they're going to want you to prove that you will be safe with them. Even though payment gateways are most likely to mean that you never have access to their details anyway, people do not understand these things and will judge your level of trustworthiness based on the layout and text on your website.

So what can you do to make sure your website seems human and reliable? Well, firstly, make sure all of the text on your homepage and everywhere else is well written. Poorly constructed sentences and typos will make people uneasy; a legitimate business would not have those errors. Furthermore, if you're on social media, it would be a good idea to make that fact clear on your homepage; seeing a nice stream of posts, especially if you've got a lot of customer interaction going on, will show people you can be trusted. Seeing warm and friendly posts will show that you've got a warm and friendly business. A blog also proves to convey this image; if a website is unreliable, it's highly unlikely that anybody would go to the effort of regularly updating a blog for it because their heart is not really going to be set on it.

So those are a few things you can keep in mind to make sure your eCommerce website looks trustworthy and reliable. You might also try taking clear photographs of your product, so people know exactly what it is that they're going to get from you. Blurred photos, or photos which might appear to have been stolen from another source may well throw people off. So keep all these things in mind and these little things will help to convince visitors to your website that yours is the business for them!
