Getting Past the Twitter Character Limit

I have a trick for you, Mr. Bird.

Do you find that whenever you try to do your social media marketing on Twitter, you run out of characters? When you have only 140 characters, that doesn't leave you all that much much space to say anything hugely substantial. Sure, the recent update which excludes media attachments from the overall character count was great, but is it enough? Wouldn't it be nice if there were some clever way to bypass the Twitter character limit? Well, there is and I am going to tell you about it now.

On the subject of those media attachments which suddenly won't be reducing the remaining characters you can use, have you ever considered using them as the platform upon which to write your main message? Instead of writing a tweet that says “For a limited time only, you can get 10% off our range of boat oars!” you could make a snazzy graphic which says that and which has a picture of your high quality boat oars too. Then, as you will still have the entirety of your 140 characters left to say whatever you want – you can include a link, you can talk about why the products are so good or you can even crack a joke to help endear people to you. It's just a nice way to free up space if you do struggle with the character limit and, also, if you create a nice graphic, that will be a lot more eye catching than just regular text and an image of the product. Graphics will help to make your business look more professional and so are worth investing in.

So I hope that gives you a good idea of something you can do to try and improve your social media marketing campaign. Social media marketing can be a good way to help drive sales on your eCommerce website. However you decide to market your eCommerce business, I hope that it will be a success!
