LinkedIn Content Marketing

For those who don't know, LinkedIn is the most professional of the social media networks out there. People make accounts on LinkedIn and their profiles are essentially CVs because people use them as a place to list all of their places of past employment and their skills. It's a website that employers will often check if they're considering hiring somebody but it can also be used for businesses who want to promote themselves. In this blog post I am going to talk about how you can use LinkedIn to help promote your eCommerce business.

The first and most obvious way that you can promote your eCommerce website is by listing it on your LinkedIn profile. Not only will listing your business make you look good, but then anybody who hears of you (through networking and so forth) will see your business when they search for you on LinkedIn. Plus if you ever hire other employees (or if you already do) then they can do the same. But that's just quite a minor thing, and the best way you stand to promote your business over LinkedIn is by using it as a platform for content marketing. A lot of people use LinkedIn for blogging and there is a wealth of LinkedIn blog posts covering a range of interesting business subjects. If you were to write a blog post on LinkedIn that had something worthwhile to say and caught people's attention, they may well want to investigate you and your business, as well as sharing it around with their friends. Essentially, it's much like doing content marketing on your own blog; the difference is that on LinkedIn you can write as somebody who founded a business, rather than as the head of your business... The distinction is subtle, but significant.

So keep LinkedIn in mind as another worthwhile outlet for your business to cover with its internet presence. If you do sign up to LinkedIn, I hope you will find it very useful and that you will be able to connect with lots of people who would be interested in your business. Whatever you ultimately decide to do, I hope your eCommerce website will continue to thrive!
