Creating Fake Accounts

If you run an eCommerce business, then you will doubtlessly be making posts about it on social media, forums and so forth. By sharing links in as many places as possible, you are increasing the chances that somebody will click on one of them, head over to your site and become a customer. However, people are familiar with people from small businesses trying to do bits of self-promotion like that and so generally are able to tune it out and ignore it. So what can you do to make your links appealing and get people to go through? Well, one thing you might like to try is creating fake account to help make more people click through on your links.


How can your fake accounts make your links look more appealing? Well, if you then commented (with a fake account) on the post you made on your main account and said "wow, that's amazing" then that validates the link a little and will persuade other people to take a look. By making a fake account and commenting, you really do stand to increase the clicks on that link. What you could do is create a few personas on these forums/social media pages/wherever you're posting and then just use different ones at different times. Though time-consuming, going this extra length will ensure that it all seems natural and is not at all suspicious. Be consistent with these personas and make sure you do not contradict yourself. You could also try sharing as these other personas, as if you are merely sharing something you find interesting or useful, because this will also encourage more clicks.


However, while making a fake account to comment on your posts can be helpful, for a lot of places it is actually against the rules. If you don't want to break anybody's code of conduct then you might prefer not to do anything like this, but if you would be happy with doing it anyway, be discrete. You might like to use a proxy so that they won't be able to detect that you are using the same computer. If you do decide to try this, I hope that you'll find it to be successful! If you don't want to do it, there are plenty of other ways to drive traffic to your site which could be just as useful. Whatever you do, I hope your eCommerce website can continue to grow.
