Networking with Bloggers

No matter what area of business you're in, there'll be people who blog about it. Arts and crafts, clothing, food, toys, you name it, there'll be blogs that are devoted to it. Some of these blogs will doubtlessly have a large number of readers (many of whom will be committed to the industry) and so wouldn't it be nice if they were to write a blog post about your eCommerce website? The extra link would be good for your SEO and all of the readers of that blog will be made aware of your site!

So you might like to consider approaching these bloggers. Even if you're not aware of any blog, you should still do this; if, for example, you sell toys on your eCommerce website, then you could write "toy blog" into a search engine and you'll find yourself with a large number of results. Take a look at one of these blogs and read a few posts, maybe share some of them over your business's Twitter page or leave a few friendly comments. Also, be sure to look out for their Twitter page and any contact email addresses. If you follow them on Twitter, it will be a nice sign of respect and it might encourage them to follow you back, they'll appreciate it if you retweet or reply to their tweets as well. Then, once you've made yourself known to them, you could send an email and ask them if they'd like to write about your business in their blog (you could even offer to write about their blog in your own one as well) and the worst that can happen is that they'd say no.

So, if you want to get your eCommerce website known to more people, then I hope this has given you an idea about what you can be doing. Who knows? Maybe the bloggers themselves would go on to become life-long customers? And maybe you'll learn a thing or two from their posts, which will help to make your business even better. But whatever approach you decide to take with your business, I hope that you will be able to find success.
