Outreach Tips

If you do content marketing for your eCommerce website, one thing you might well like to consider is trying to get some of your content published on websites beside your own. If you've got a lot of links leading back to your website, you're more likely to come up highly on Google searches. But how can you get your content onto other people's websites? Well "outreach" they call it and you just basically need to contact them and pitch them your work. If you're a bit nervous about doing this, here are some general tips for doing so.

The first thing you need to keep in mind is that you don't want to make it obvious that you're contacting them for the sake of promoting your own website. When you contact bloggers or owners of other websites, present them with content which would fit well on their own site. Make the case that it would be good for them to have that content on their site because it's high quality and the kind of thing which people would enjoy. Make the case that it would be good for their SEO and also that you'd share it amongst your own followers on social media and so fort - this would bring new people to their website. Speak with authority too, make it clear that you speak on behalf of a business, but also treat the blogger's own website/business with respect and treat it as something which is on equal footing with your own. Small bloggers especially will appreciate that. You could also read a few of their existing blog posts and then explain why you think your own work would be a good match because they have some other posts that are a little similar.

Essentially, just be respectful and don't try to make it seem like you're using them. You could potentially try to present it as an opportunity for them. There are a few ways that you could go about it and whatever you ultimately decide to do, I hope you will find success with your content marketing and that lots of new people will find your site!
