Telesales Confidence

Telemarketing is a marketing method which has been used for decades and the reason that it's been used for so long is because it really is very effective. Sure, it may have a bad reputation and many may think of it as annoying, but the fact that it does work shows that there must be a significantly large number of people who find it to be quite useful. But it's a numbers game; every person who does want to buy from you will probably come after at least twenty people who did not. Don't be disheartened if you get a lot of nos!

Having said that, it is also important for you to be confident in the calls you make. Coming across as shy or nervous well make it easier for the prospect to turn you down and, in fact, may further encourage them to become annoyed. So what can you do to keep your confidence levels high? Well, there are a few things to keep in mind to help keep you relaxed; first, you are at home, or in your office, the worst thing that can happen to you during telesales is literally just hearing something you don't like. There'll be no real consequences of a bad call. You also need to keep in mind that it's not you the person is annoyed it; just the idea of telesales. If they met you in reality, the pair of you would probably get on very well and you'd become the best of friends. You are not annoying people, you are just doing what you need to do in order to make money in order to buy food in order to survive.

If you do find telemarketing stressful, you could get yourself a stress ball and just keep hold of it while you make your calls. Maybe you could bring up a calming image on your computer screen and keep it up while you make your calls. A bad call never needs to last long either; if a person is being aggressive towards you, they are in the wrong and you are free to hang up at any point. In the end, if you can never seem to work up the confidence for telemarketing, then just don't do it. There are many other marketing strategies available, most of which can be just as effective as telesales. Or maybe you could hire someone else to do telesales on behalf of your business. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you will find lots of success and your eCommerce business will continue to grow!
